A repeat sexual offender has been indicted on four charges for allegedly attempting to take a photo of a woman using the restroom at Portland’s Lloyd Center mall.

Jared Walter, 33, was indicted Monday on first- and second-degree invasion of personal privacy, attempted invasion of personal privacy and disorderly conduct, according to court records. He remains in the Multnomah County Detention Center.

Police said Walter attempted to photograph a woman using the restroom Nov. 14 at the Northeast Portland mall. The woman confronted him and notified mall security, which detained him until police arrived.

Walter, who is known as the “TriMet Barber,” previously received a lifetime ban from TriMet after numerous arrests for cutting, touching or masturbating into the hair of unsuspecting women riding transit.

Walter had been sentenced to a year in prison following a March 2019 arrest. He got out early and allegedly assaulted another woman in February.

Walter is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in the latest case, according to court records.
