PORTLAND — Police are searching for someone who they believe tried to rob two kids in Holladay Park, then fired shots and struck two other people.

Police responded to the Northeast Portland park around 7 p.m. after reports of a shooting. They found a man and a woman, each with gunshot wounds to one leg. Both were conscious and talking to officers, who treated them before a hospital arrived and took them to the hospital.

Police say the suspect, whom they did not identify or describe, may have tried to rob two boys, then fired shots when they ran away. The boys were not hurt. Police did not immediately say whether the two people who were injured tried to intervene in the robbery or were otherwise involved. The suspect drove away, and police have not yet found the person.

Robbery detectives are investigating the case.
