CAMAS — The Dorothy Fox Parent Teacher Association has collected more than 450 pairs of shoes through its shoe drive that started on Nov. 1. The shoe drive and fundraiser, taking place through January, will help raise money to provide for special programs and events at Dorothy Fox Elementary School in the Camas School District. “We are excited about our shoe drive,” said Trisha Golding, PTA co-president. “We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate. With the community’s generous help, we can raise money to support the Fox students, school and staff, and we have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. It’s a win-win for everyone.” The PTA will earns funds from Funds2Orgs based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected. All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout Funds2Orgs’ network of organizations. Drop-off locations around Camas include Dorothy Fox Elementary, 2623 N.W.
