Referendum 90 will uphold the new state law requiring all public schools to teach age-appropriate, inclusive, comprehensive sexual health education to K-12 students. It provides robust, meaningful education for youth. It reduces the likelihood of sexual violence, prevents sexually transmitted diseases, teaches about honest consent and reduces unwanted pregnancies. Research has shown that young people who have quality sex education are less likely to partake in risky behavior.
Overall, this program is an important part of health education. It is supported by educators, librarians, pediatricians, and many, many parents across the state. Vote to approve R-90.
