Drivers heading through Skamania County on state Highway 14 should expect delays near Carson next week due to slope stabilization work, according to a press release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The project is focused on two slopes alongside a stretch of the highway to the west of Wind River Road, with the goal of preventing rock fall events. Crews began working on the project in late September, according to WSDOT, and are expected to wrap up later in the fall.

On Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., drivers in both directions will alternate through a single-lane section with flaggers. The single-lane configuration will be in effect around-the-clock starting Wednesday and continuing through Friday.
