The Vancouver-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust released its Summer 2020 Grants Report, which outlines $12.2 million in charitable giving around the Pacific Northwest including 22 grants totaling $4.7 million in Washington.

Locally, The Historic Trust received $250,000 for leasehold improvements to preserve Providence Academy. Nehemiah Project International Ministries received $238,000 for new technology to expand its educational reach.

The trust noted in its news release that this year brought unprecedented challenges and once-in-a-generation tragedies to Pacific Northwest communities, but it finds reason for hope and optimism.

“As we enter the final weeks of 2020 and prepare for a season of generosity and giving, we are hopeful for the future and eager to see what other ways individuals across our region can help partner and contribute to the common good,” Executive Director Steve Moore said.
