Voter turnout in Clark County nears 50 percent

Voter turnout in Clark County is nearing 50 percent for the Nov. 3 general election.

Clark County Elections staff reported an additional 13,327 ballots were received Tuesday morning. Since ballots were mailed Oct. 16, 157,896 have been returned.

A total of 49 percent of 322,269 registered voters in the county have cast ballots.

In the November 2016 general election, 210,760 of 272,832 registered voters voted for a 77.25 percent turnout. County elections officials have predicted a historic turnout of roughly 90 percent in this year’s election.

In-person registration remains available at the Clark County Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St. in Vancouver, until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
