I’ve decided that my vote for a congresswoman to serve my district will be for the candidate who has proven that she can reach across the aisle to help end the toxic partisanship in D.C. as well as deliver on her promises: Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler. She was a recipient of the Jefferson-Hamilton Award for bipartisanship — one of 20 Republicans in the House co-sponsoring bills with Democrats. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, she secured $2.5 million in housing grants for Southwest Washington through the CARES Act. She has stayed away from the D.C. morass. Boy, she has my vote!
