Letter: Trump benefits Russia

By Terry E. Viertel, Vancouver

Donald Trump stated that he might have to leave the country if he loses the election. A recent letter suggested he might go to France. I would like to offer an alternative: He would fly past France, all the way to Moscow, where he would be met with open arms by Vladimir Putin. All the money Russia has invested in Trump has finally paid off. In four short years he has done what Russia couldn’t do in all the years since WWII. He has sown hatred, distrust, ignorance and racism, to a degree that is mind boggling. With the complicity of Mitch McConnell and the Republican Senate he has encouraged white supremacists and QAnon and told armed militias to stand by.

Putin must be happy as a clam.
