The Master Gardener Foundation of Clark County is soliciting grant applications from local organizations looking to promote community gardening with environmentally friendly horticulture practices.

This year, various grants help to fund local horticultural education activities, including community gardens, demonstration gardens and school gardens. Last year’s recipients include the Minnie Stromgren Memorial Gardens at Vancouver Heights United Methodist Church, the 4-H Restorative Community Service Garden and the Clark County Veterans Garden.

The application form and more information can be found at http://www.mgfcc.com/Grants.html. Applicants with further questions can contact Michele Huffman at mgfclark@gmail.com.

Applications must be received at the Master Gardener Foundation Office at the 78th Street Heritage Farm and may be mailed to 1919 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver, WA 98655. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Oct. 23.

The applications will be reviewed by the Master Gardener Foundation’s board of directors. It will announce awards in January.
