A Vancouver house fire displaced a family of five and their dog Friday evening.

The fire at 5800 N.E. 39th St. was reported to 911 around 6:45 p.m. Friday.

The Vancouver Fire Department arrived within three minutes and found an attic fire in the one-story, ranch-style house in the Road’s End neighborhood.

Firefighters brought water lines inside the house and put the fire out within about 30 minutes, said Joe Hudson, a department spokesman and firefighter.

No one was injured in the fire, but the American Red Cross was called to assist the family with housing. The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

Hudson noted that local firefighters have had a busy summer fighting house fires, including a few recent attic fires.
