VANCOUVER HEIGHTS — Staff at Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington’s Heights O.K.2 Clubhouse have gotten creative to engage their members during the pandemic. This summer, they have provided families with take-home activity packets for club and community members to complete and bring back for a reward, and a bonus prize for wearing a mask. “We’ve been seeing about 30 youth total but our numbers have been going up each week. We are constantly evolving how we run Pop-Up Club in order to cater to member suggestions and COVID-19 guidelines,” said Cassie Roberts, assistant club director. The packets include educational worksheets like word searches and puzzles. A special treat after the end-of-week check-in at the Pop-up Club includes an extra hour of games and activities. Staff members set up stations to encourage social distancing. Learn more at mybgc.org/our-clubs/heights-ok-2-clubhouse.
