What do you want to know from your congressional candidates?

The League of Women Voters is soliciting questions from the public for its live broadcast debate between Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, and Democratic challenger Carolyn Long. The two candidates have agreed to a debate hosted by the League to be broadcast on Clark/Vancouver Television at 2 p.m. Oct. 9.

In a media release, the League said its goal for the debate is to generate meaningful discussions on the economy, health care, education, the environment, the budget and the future of the congressional district. A panel of representatives will review the questions before they’re posed to Herrera Beutler and Long.

To submit a question, voters can use The Columbian’s “Clark Asks” page, found at https://www.columbian.com/clark-asks/. The Columbian is a co-sponsor of the event.

Long and Herrera Beutler are seeking to represent Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. They’ll appear on the Nov. 3 ballot.

The debate will also be available for streaming after the fact at CVTV.org.
