One person was arrested late Thursday in Hazel Dell after a shooting incident that prompted deputies to order residents to shelter in place, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched at 9:18 p.m. to reports of gunfire in an area near Northeast 88th Street and Northeast 19th Court, according to a sheriff’s office statement.

Residents in the densely populated neighborhood were asked to shelter in place as deputies investigated, the sheriff’s office said.

Eventually, deputies detained two people and booked one of them into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of reckless endangerment and of aiming or discharging a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office. The person’s name was not released.

No injuries were reported.
