Clark County adds 53 new COVID-19 cases

Clark County Public Health confirmed 53 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Wednesday afternoon.

The county has recorded 19,754 total cases and 243 confirmed and suspected deaths.

There are 296 active COVID-19 cases in the county, according to Public Health, and the county’s COVID-19 activity rate stands at 110.2 cases per 100,000 population. After weeks of decreases, the case rate has been increasing over the last couple weeks.

Clark County has 22 people hospitalized for COVID-19 and one person who is hospitalized and awaiting COVID-19 test results. Hospitalizations are also starting to see a small increase.

According to the state Department of Health, Clark County has administered more than 180,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

The county has vaccinated roughly 26 percent of its population with at least one shot, according to the department of health. About 16 percent of the county is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
