Nominees for Week 6 prep athlete of the week

Voting continues through 7 p.m. Thursday

Here are the nominees for the Week 6 high school prep athlete of the week, for results from March 29 to April 9.

Voting will continue until 7 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again in the same sports season.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable to vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

LUCY GEORGE, WOODLAND GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: George won the 100 hurdles (15.72), javelin (111-7), long jump (16-10) and high jump (5-6) in a meet with R.A. Long.

BRIG GRIFFIN, WASHOUGAL BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Griffin won the 100 (12.03) and 200 meters (23.77) and the high jump (5-2) in a meet with Ridgefield and Hudson’s Bay.

BRENDON LEACH, LA CENTER BOYS SOCCER: Leach had eight goals and one assist in four wins for the Wildcats.

CASEY STRUCKMEIER, COLUMBIA RIVER BASEBALL: Struckmeier went 5 for 9 with six runs and nine RBI in four games. He also pitched six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out 15.

BETHANY TUCHARDT, BATTLE GROUND VOLLEYBALL: Tuchardt had 35 kills, 42 digs, three aces and two blocks in two matches for the Tigers.
