Letter: Restrictions are needed

I was alarmed to read of state legislatures acting to cut state governors’ emergency powers. Our Washington governor jumped in with sane and science-based restrictions when the COVID-19 virus began to pose a public health emergency. Throughout the world, it still does. There is a plague among us.

Americans can do anything and do it vigorously for two weeks. Then, we’re ready to move on. Now, we’re into our second year of this public health emergency. We still need these restrictions and leadership from our governors as we continue to try to stay healthy. There is still a plague among us.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
