As a caregiver for multiple clients with disabilities, I find what happened to Karreon Walker-Franks deeply sickening. What happened to Karreon Walker-Franks shouldn’t happen in any community, and the fact that this is not an isolated event is very disturbing to say the least.
That being said, I believe that change is possible. I’m grateful to know that there are a growing number of advocacy groups for those with disabilities as well as people banding together for those in need.
