A motorcycle rider was injured late Thursday after crashing on Northeast 78th Street in Hazel Dell, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

A sheriff’s office bulletin said the crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Northeast 78th Street when the motorcyclist apparently turned east onto the street after exiting northbound Interstate 5 and struck a curb median.

The motorcyclist, who came to rest in the westbound traffic lanes, was transported to a hospital with what appeared to have suffered a significant head injury, according to the bulletin, which said the injuries turned out to be not life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation, but the bulletin said alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor. The motorcyclist’s name was not released.
