The gap between two candidates for La Center City Council Position 3 has widened to four votes, according to results released Wednesday afternoon.

Sean Boyle now has 301 votes, up two from the previous count. Votes for Janice Fowler were unchanged, at 297. The eventual winner will face T.R. “Randy” Williams in November, who has received 359 votes.

In the other tight race for city council, Justin Keeler has 297 votes, Melissa Fox, 272, and Myrna Leija, 254. Keeler and Fox will advance to the general election.

A final handful of ballots remain to be counted countywide before results are certified Aug. 17.
