Letter: We have freedom of choice to end COVID-19 pandemic

In our wonderful country we experience more freedoms than anywhere else in the world. One freedom means we can choose to get our shots, or not. So do we choose to help others and ourselves, or prolong the pandemic?

One of the saddest stories in our family is our granddaughter’s. She is fourth in five generations of living family. Yes, a lot of families can say this. Now her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother all have COVID-19 and are in the same treatment center, all with induced comas.

Yes, they had their freedom of choice to get their shots. They were not going to be told they had to get the shot, and as a result they are suffering and a large number of people around them are suffering. Each one accruing a cost of $1,400 a day. All will probably loose their homes, if not their lives.

How long are we going to prolong this pandemic by choosing not to wear our masks or not getting our shots? It’s your choice.
