Letter: Waterfront development depressing

On a nice summer day, my wife and I decided to take a walk at The Waterfront Vancouver. As we walked we became depressed; the pavement behind the pier in front of the WildFin restaurant was filthy from pedestrians eating greasy to-go foods that had been spilt, stepped on and tracked on the pavement. As we walked to the north side on Waterfront Way, you can see where the garbage is wheeled out of the restaurant. The sidewalks are so covered with grease the walkway has disappeared, it’s just black. For the price they charge at these high-end restaurants you would think they would care for the surrounding environment better than this.

And a question for the powers that be, why is there nothing other than high-end expensive restaurants at The Waterfront Vancouver?
