WOODLAND — Hundreds of Woodland students received free backpacks filled with school supplies Aug. 21 at Woodland Public Schools’ fifth annual Back-to-School Bash. The event was held outdoors this year due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. In addition to picking up backpacks, families visited with representatives from local resource agencies and munched on snacks from the district’s nutrition services department. Attendees also were able to enter a free raffle for door prizes provided by area businesses. Gabrielle “Gabby” Meador, Family and Community Resource Center coordinator for Woodland Public Schools, organized the event. “We are so grateful to our community partners who attend the event, as well as those who donate funds and supplies for our Back-to-School Bash,” she said. “We received so much support from our communities including all of our wonderful volunteers.”
