Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue crews extinguished a fire burning an outdoor sauna Wednesday west of Battle Ground.

Firefighters were dispatched at 4:44 p.m. to the 23000 block of Northeast 67th Avenue for a report of an outbuilding on fire.

It took the first engine a bit longer than usual to arrive due to a mix-up with the street address. When it did, the crew found a structure used for a sauna up in flames, Fire Chief John Nohr said.

The fire was threatening nearby trees and the residence, so firefighters focused on preventing its spread before shifting attention to extinguishment, Nohr said. There were no reported injuries.

The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
