Traffic was briefly stalled Tuesday morning on southbound Interstate 5 as officers responded to a theft call.

Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said the owner of a stolen trailer called 911 when they saw their stolen property on the road. Officers responded and pulled over the unidentified suspect, she said.

Police used a canine during the arrest “due to the limited visibility of the trailer,” Kapp said.

The response caused traffic delays on the freeway at Milepost 1.5, near Fourth Plain Boulevard, according to a tweet from the Washington State Department of Transportation around 8:40 a.m.

The transportation department reported that the scene cleared about 15 minutes later.
