RIDGEFIELD — The U.S. Post Office at 205 N. Main Ave. recently added two photos of deceased commanders to its wall honoring local veterans. The photos were of Tom McCarthy, who served in the Navy, and Bruce Crockett, who served in the Army. The American Legion Post No. 44 honored the veterans in a small ceremony at the post office in January. McCarthy’s widow, Sherry McCarthy, attended the ceremony to share stories, along with Ridgefield City Councilman Rob Aichele, Vietnam veteran Chuck Jones and others.
