The Clark County Sheriff’s Office, with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is seeking the public’s help in solving a homicide.

On Jan. 2, 2015, the body of 40-year-old Jessica Newton was discovered near the Columbia River; investigators found the condition of her body to be suspicious, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

“Little information is known about Newton’s whereabouts or acquaintances in mid- to late-December 2014. Newton was known to frequent east Portland and downtown Portland homeless services,” the news release states.

Anyone with information about Newton’s last known activities, associates or death can submit a tip to Crime Stoppers of Oregon at http://www.crimestoppersoforegon.com/ or visit the App Store and download P3 Tips. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards of up to $2,500 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime.
