Letter: Faith community should follow rules

Hearing about Sean Feucht’s Christian singalong concerts in Southern California really rankled me. California is concerned that these singalongs will be COVID-19 superspreader events. The “local angle” box explained that one of these concerts was held at the Vancouver waterfront and as many as 4,000 people attended on Labor Day weekend last year. It undoubtedly was a superspreader event in Clark County, too.

Freedom of religion is protected by our Constitution, but using the Christian faith as cover for flagrant disregard of the health and safety of our community is not. Responsible faith communities follow the state guidelines.
