Many are fortunate to have food, warm clothes, a place to live, and good health. But now, more don’t than do. Many have seen the tragedy and given generously of their time, energy, and resources. Many make extra efforts to spread kind words, to smile, and be courteous.
What is grossly missing is any message of sympathy, understanding, or hope from the president of the United States. The president spent last week in Mar-a-Lago playing golf, living a pampered life, and fighting with Melania over wood panel and marble renovation at their resort residence.
We are in serious trouble here and there will be no quick fix. But there is hope and we all know, in our hearts, what that is.
