SEATTLE — Weyerhaeuser Co. (WY) on Friday reported fourth-quarter net income of $292 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had net income of 39 cents. Earnings, adjusted to extinguish debt and for non-recurring costs, were 48 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 49 cents per share.
The timber and paper products company posted revenue of $2.06 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported net income of $797 million, or $1.07 per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $7.53 billion.
