WOODLAND — Woodland Public Schools’ Family Community Resource Center teamed up with Columbia Elementary School Secretary Elizabeth “Liz” Landrigan and her husband, Scott Landrigan, safety and facilities director for Woodland Public Schools, to run a neighborhood project to benefit families in need during the two-week break when district food services were shut down for the holidays. The Landrigans decorated their home with a holiday light display, while putting out a bucket to collect food donations, then put them together in a “Winter Break Box.” “We wanted to raise food to help our area students and families in need, so when I found out the FCRC received more requests for assistance than it had the supplies to support due to the pandemic, I knew how we could help,” Liz Landrigan said. Ten families were helped by the drive. To find more information about services offered by the resource center, visit www.woodlandschools.org/fcrc, email meadorg@woodlandschools.org or call 360-841-2718. Spanish-speaking families can call 360-841-2918.
