The Washington State Patrol is looking for a vehicle allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run Sunday morning on Interstate 5 near La Center.

WSP Trooper Will Finn said authorities are seeking a gold or silver early-2000s Chevy Trailblazer or similar model with front-end damage. Traffic cameras captured images of the vehicle driving away from the scene.

At 9:48 a.m., troopers received calls of a woman lying face-down on the right shoulder of I-5 near Milepost 17.

Authorities determined the woman had been fatally struck by a vehicle. Traffic was impacted for about three hours as an investigation took place.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office is working with law enforcement to identify the woman who was killed. No details on her name or age were released.

The WSP wants to hear from anybody who saw a woman wearing dark clothing walking near I-5 between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. on Sunday.

Law enforcement is also seeking information on the vehicle, which was last seen headed east toward Battle Ground on State Route 502. Traffic camera images showed the vehicle had sustained damage to the front end.

Anyone with information is asked to call the WSP detectives at 360-449-7941.
