SALMON CREEK — Fort Vancouver Lions member Doug Wilson was presented a Melvin Jones Fellowship by the club on June 25 at the Salmon Creek United Methodist Church.

Club District Gov. Doug Harvey and member Jen Leger presented him with a plaque. The honor, named after the Lions Clubs’ founder, is the second-highest recognition given to a member who has demonstrated a commitment to community service.

“Service to the club through his leadership as chairman of many community projects as well as his work within the Lions Club organization makes him a perfect Melvin Jones Fellow,” a news release noted.
