Raptors Road Trip: Bellingham 1, Ridgefield 0

A solo home run in the first inning was all it took to send the Raptors to their third straight loss as they fell to the Bells 1-0 in West Coast League action Saturday at Bellingham’s Joe Martin Field. Ridgefield was held to three hits by four Bells pitchers and stranded nine base runners. Raptors batters also struck out 13 times.

KEY MOMENTS: Luis Aviles hit a two-out solo home run in the first for Bellingham. … The Raptors had two runners in scoring position with one out in the eighth, but the Bells brought in pitcher Greg Blackman, who struck out both batters he faced.

KEY PLAYERS: Raptors first baseman Coby Morales extended his hit streak to 11 games, going 1 for 4.

NEXT GAME: Ridgefield (20-15 overall, 7-4 second half) at Bellingham (18-20, 7-7), 1:05 p.m. today in the finale of the three-game series.
