Letter: Keep Zavala-Ortega on school board

Voters should retain Sandra Zavala-Ortega for Vancouver school board. Sandra’s experiences as a Latina, a child of immigrant parents and a former ELL student give a needed perspective to the board and district as she advocates for a significant portion of students in our district. Sandra’s voice as a Latina brings leadership that has been underrepresented in education. With the recent equity audit, Sandra will bring a needed perspective to the equity work that the board and district are focusing on. She has shared insights and experiences that are a valuable perspective on these initiatives. Please vote to retain Sandra on the Vancouver Public Schools board, Position 2.
