Letter: Jacobsen will be missed

I read with distress the recent tribute to Jane Jacobsen after her passing (“Community activist Jane Jacobsen dies at 72,” The Columbian, May 25). I worked with Jane during the late 1990s on community issues and was captivated by her commitment, her integrity, and just her all-around being and sincerity. She was a great pleasure to be with, and she was always upfront, no hidden agenda, no negativity; just the desire to make things better for the community. Vancouver has suffered a tremendous loss and my heart goes out to her family and the community. We are richer for her life, poorer in her passing. She was a good person.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
