Letter: Keep vaccine photos out of paper

I am a member of a small group of people who are sensitive to the sight of needles going into people’s arms (it can make me faint and pass out), and I just want to vent a bit (and perhaps get a bit of empathy for myself and others like me, and before you ask, yes I am vaccinated). I am sick and tired of the barrage of photos of people getting their COVID-19 shots that inundate the television news shows every day.

There were a couple times a news show blurred the image of a needle going into an arm, which I appreciated. And now The Columbian has joined this debacle with not one but two front pages showing someone getting their shot.

Please, give it a rest. Why do we have to be subjected to these same old photos every day? There is nothing newsworthy, artistic or imaginative about seeing someone giving or receiving a shot.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
