The Vancouver Master Chorale is auditioning singers for its 2021-2022 season. Rehearsals begin Sept. 13. The choir practices every Monday night at First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main St., Vancouver.

Vancouver Master Chorale is a large choir with singers from Vancouver and Portland. The group performs three to five concerts a year, with several performances of each concert. This year, the choir will perform with a full orchestra. Works to be performed include Handel’s “Messiah,” Faure’s “Requiem,” works by Whitacre and Rutter, and selections from opera and Broadway.

Auditioners should prepare any song of their choice and be ready to sing scales to determine range. There is no sight-reading test at the audition but the ability to read music is essential for participation.

To schedule an audition, email Jana Hart at janahart2007@gmail. To learn more about Vancouver Master Chorale, visit vancouvermasterchorale.org.
