The Tower Mall COVID-19 vaccination site is closing at 12:30 p.m. Monday because of 90 degree temperatures expected later in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Vancouver from noon to 9 p.m. today.

The vaccination site, 5403 E. Mill Plain Blvd., in Vancouver, will be open Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with an hour break starting at noon, according to Clark County Public Health. The Tower Mall site doesn’t require appointments and offers the Pfizer vaccine.

Hours at the site, which will close on June 30, are:

  • 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Monday
  • 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
  • Closed noon to 1 p.m. each day

Public health also recommended people avoid heat-related illness by staying indoors as much as possible and drinking extra water. When outdoors, people should wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and wear a brimmed hat, public health said on Facebook.
