Clark County Fire District 3, which is based in Brush Prairie and serves a large portion of unincorporated Clark County where fireworks are allowed, issued a statement Wednesday encouraging residents to celebrate without fireworks this year.
The Camas-Washougal Fire Department issued a similar statement Wednesday afternoon.
“Fire potential forecasts indicate that with the upcoming heat wave, most of Fire District 3 will be at an extremely high-risk level,” the statement said.
