Letter: No accountability for Quiring O’Brien

Happy anniversary! Since June 23, it has been over one year since Eileen Quiring O’Brien made her unfortunate rant about the status of racism in Clark County.

There has been no accountability for her statements as the highest elected official in the county. Her comments resulted in hours and hours of preparation in order to educate the petulant and delusional county chair. An ethics complaint was filed and has yet to be acted upon. Our county board handles ethics complaints against themselves. Talk about the fox guarding the hen house.

In an attempt to appear objective and per the charter, they appoint two of the five councilors to the Ethics Committee and an “outside” third person. They have yet to do this. According to Councilor Julie Olson, “We have not appointed a third person to the committee. Our rules are suspended and we did not choose anyone prior to then.”

Convenient.

Is there going to be any accountability for the three councilors headed by Miss Science for questioning vaccines for children and still maintaining the myth that masks don’t work? Quiring O’Brien is a dangerous woman. MAGA indeed.
