Recently we had a garage sale. Signs were posted and an ad put in the paper. Start time was 10 a.m. About 15 minutes early, some people started to arrive, which was OK. We were busy though, still putting out tables. One of us stayed in the garage and tried to keep an eye on things. For the first 30 minutes it was rather hectic. One older nicely dressed gentleman had arrived 20 minutes early and was very interested in some watches we had, but also was checking out all the other tables. He purchased two small things. About an hour later things calmed down. We realized someone, presumably that man, had stolen a camera and two watches, and heaven knows what else.
My point is, some people evidently arrive early to garage sales knowing you are busy setting up and not paying close attention. Be careful, as I’m sure this goes on a lot.
On a positive note, kudos to Clark Public Utilities. Our power went out at 7:15 a.m. but was back on by 8:15 a.m. They are the best. Only the third time in 15 years.
