Letter: How long will honeymoon last?

The Vancouver School Board has selected a new superintendent, Jeff Snell. Everyone involved in the process is all smiles.

Kind of reminds me of an engagement. An exhausting search for a partner has concluded. The prenuptial has been signed and the wedding is scheduled for July 1. How long will it last this time, and are there any golden parachutes in the prenuptial agreement? We are stingy with teachers, aides, custodians, office staff, maintenance personal and bus drivers. Golden giveaways for the person at the top have become the norm.

What happened with Steve Webb? Why the golden parachute? What did he do or what did he have over the heads of the school board? We never find out but we are obliged to pay the bill. When we are kept in the dark, one’s imagination can run wild.
