Letter: Development doesn’t add up

By Susan Colby, Vancouver

City Councilor Bart Hansen wants to impress those coming into Vancouver on the Interstate 5 Bridge with a new development to include restaurants, retail and apartments. They’d have plenty of time to take it all in since the bridge is already continuously clogged with traffic and much more can be expected with all the new developments east and west of the bridge. What we need is a new bridge first to accommodate all this traffic and growth. Also, would anyone looking at the shot of the old buildings and then at the proposed replacements find the sterile new buildings more attractive?
