Letter: School district skimps on services

As a mother of four, I have more tasks than time to do them. This snowballed a year ago when schools closed, made all the more distressing by the lack of education for my two disabled children, one with multiple disabilities who cannot access learning remotely. Vancouver special education offered me 30 hours of classroom compensatory time to make up for more than 400 lost hours of specialized education services.

I am horrified by this paltry amount. When will the community demand transparency and responsibility for the funding we provide? How can the district buy out a resigning superintendent, yet fail to allocate time, resources, and personnel to demonstrate equitable treatment of our children? Parents and taxpayers, please make yourselves heard.
