I would like to commend President Biden for being the first U.S. President to acknowledge the killing of 1.5 million Armenians in Turkey at the beginning of the 20th century as genocide. All four of my grandparents emigrated to the U.S. from Turkey around 1915 as the only way to survive. As the president said, the significance of this statement is not to cast blame but to ensure what happened is never repeated.
