PORTLAND — With a title like “Kill the Orange-Faced Bear,” the pilot for a TBS comedy that’s filming in Portland this month already stands out from the crowd. Clearly, this isn’t just another show about doctors, cops and lawyers. The concept seems like it lives up to that memorable title. According to a TBS press release, Damon Wayans Jr. (“Happy Endings”) stars as Hank, a guy who’s out to get revenge on the bear that killed and ate his girlfriend.

Sound hilarious? Who knows, but the cast is impressive. Joining Wayans Jr. are Jessy Hodges (“Barry”), Alex Karpovsky (“Girls”), and actor/producer Nate Torrence (“Weird Loners”). In addition to following Hank’s revenge journey, “Kill the Orange-Faced Bear” will also feature voice performances from Sarah Silverman (“I Love You America”), Nicole Byer (“Nailed It!”) and Sam Richardson (“Veep”).

Since there’s no way we could make this up, let’s go to the TBS press release for more details: “Silverman voices Brenda, the sarcastic badass grizzly bear who attacked and ate Hank’s fiancée Stacy — for personal reasons. When Stacy’s friends panicked and mistook a can of spray paint for bear mace, they turned Brenda’s face orange — but she won’t let being marked make her an easy target for Hank’s revenge plan.

Byer voices Pauline, a bear with perfect fur and perfect nails who seduces Brenda’s husband.

Richardson voices Steve, the charmingly idiotic grizzly bear with a dangerous habit of breaking into cars to steal snacks and beer.”

Wayans Jr.’s Hank is described as “charming, funny and grieving,” and is “hell-bent on tracking down Brenda the bear.” Hodges plays Stacy, Hank’s late girlfriend, and she also plays Stacy’s twin sister, Jamie, who has “a confusing secret.”

Karpovsky plays Ronnie, “an oddball park ranger who has a score to settle with Hank. Nate Torrance is Murray, Hank’s best friend and boyfriend to Jamie, who is just trying to keep everyone together.”

“Kill the Orange-Faced Bear” is created, written and executive produced by Romanski (“Blue Mountain State”).
