I agree with many points made by Chris Tobkin in his letter (“Share info about vaccinations,” Our Readers’ Views, May 7) regarding the lack of information that has been given to the public on vaccinated citizens in America. Throughout the entirety of the pandemic thus far, I have also noticed that there seems to be a surplus of information regarding the number of cases and deaths caused by COVID-19, but have rarely seen information reported regarding the number of vaccinations. In fact, the only times that I have been able to find statistics related to the vaccinations has been through active searching online.
For much of the population, many do not have the time or access to actively look into vaccination progress, and much less into how vaccinations have been affecting Americans in order to be sure that the vaccine is, in fact, furthering our progress with combating the pandemic. If information regarding the vaccines were to be presented as frequently as COVID cases to the public, however, seeing the impacts of getting vaccinated will further encourage more of the population to receive their vaccines.
