I’m very concerned about what kind of future my 6-year-old son will have if we don’t transition off of fossil fuels as soon as possible.
The burning of fossil fuels produces CO2, which is known to cause global warming.
Global warming is already increasing the frequency of extreme weather events such as drought, high winds, wildfire and food shortages that hurt our economy and people’s lives.
Last year, there were a record 22 climate-related disasters exceeding $1 billion each in the U.S. Worldwide, the cost of climate-related disasters exceeded $95 billion.
The smoke last year terrified me. Many of those wildfires were started by downed power lines. This is all happening right now, and it’s only going to get worse.
