A man was shot and killed in a hardware store parking lot in North Portland on Saturday night, police said.

Officers responded about 7 p.m. to a report of a shooting off of North Hayden Meadows Drive, where they found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

No arrests have been made. Officers are speaking to witnesses at the scene, police said.

Police have not publicly identified the man, who is one of 37 people killed in Portland homicides this year and was the second homicide in Portland on Saturday. Another unidentified man was shot and killed in Southeast Portland early Saturday morning.

Police responded about 1 a.m. Saturday to a report of someone shot near 132nd Avenue and Center Street, where officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died, officials said.

Nine people, including the man who died Saturday night, have been killed in Portland homicides in May. The city is on pace to record its highest number of killings in one year.

Police urge anyone who has information to contact Detective Ryan Foote.
